The success of the Standard Model of particle physics leaves many open questions: what is the origin of particle masses? are they due to a Higgs boson or some other mechanism? what is the nature of the cosmological dark matter? are the fundamental interactions unified? The answers to these questions may well be found in the TeV energy range accessible directly to the LHC and indirectly to low-energy high-precision experiments and searches for rare processes. In this talk, I will review the open questions and the prospects that they will be answered by ongoing and forthcoming experiments.
